Hello, hello. Today is a very special training very important for those that have students who are juniors. So, a must watch if your kiddo is a junior. The purpose of this training is to show you the timeline, the application timeline for college applications and it's very important to realize, first and foremost that most PE people assume, okay, you have kind of four years of high school when it comes to college applications or that college applications have been senior year, the reality is that a lot of the application process starts happening in your junior year.

And if you really wanna knock it out of the field, and if you wanna stay on top of everything, and if you really wanna avoid particularly stress over scheduling and burnout for your child. Take a look at the schedule and make sure you follow it so come January.

This is the time to start realizing, okay, we are starting and we are prepping for our college applications. And by this point, there's still some dates when you can take the SATs. The a c t, so there's some February dates, some March dates , that you can still take, your standardized test scores.

But, ideally you could have even taken those, earlier in the year. But what else starts happening? the second half of junior year, this is the time when you really should consider your teacher recommendation planning. Who are you gonna ask for those recommendations?

Which teachers you have a great relationship with? Which teachers maybe you've had this year, maybe you'll have your senior year as well, or maybe you've had that teacher for two years in a row. So something to consider. Okay. Now, so some, you know, kiddos out there are gonna be the ones who are gonna be asking for that teacher recommendation letter October senior year.

But believe me, that also puts undue stress on the teacher. You don't wanna be in that position. You definitely wanna think of that ahead of time. Junior year is the time when your kiddos should be completing that breakthrough project, whether that's happening during the school year, whether it's happening that summer, between junior year and senior year.

And this is the time to do it come spring, come summer. It's the time to create your common app account and start that summer between junior and senior year filling out your common application. You should have before September 90% of your common app complete. And your essay should be completed that summer as well.

That means if you follow this track, you are ready for the early action. Early decision deadlines at most schools, which are, around November 1st, some are around November 15th, that can vary, but it's roughly in that November period. Then regular decisions are. A little bit later in the year, whether it's December, January, you're submitting that.

But if you are on this calendar, on this track, then you can be among the lucky students that will get their decisions and their notifications already about their colleges in mid-December. Now if you're submitting for the regular decision deadline, January 1st. I also greatly advise that you don't wait until that December 31st to send out your application.

So you meet that January 1st deadline. But regular decisions are gonna start coming in in the spring and, end of March, early April by April 15th for most colleges. So again, have this critical, critical 12 month period, I would say that starts for a junior, really in January. It's those 12 months, from, middle of junior year, and January of junior year.

To the time when the 12 months are up and you're gonna have those admission letters in your inbox, in your mailbox, when everything needs to be completed. Again, major takeaway from this. Don't think that college applications start in senior year. that's something that you kinda scramble to do in the fall.
